Employment for Volunteer workers

Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering in our New York office. We hope that at this point you are already familiar with our organization. If you are not, please take a moment to read some of the other sections of our website to learn more about us.

Volunteers of all ages, backgrounds, and interests enjoy contributing their time to the U.S. offices of MSF.
We believe interested persons should be able to volunteer in our offices even if they do not have a lot of free time. As such we accept persons for positions which range from just a few to many hours per week. These positions frequently involve clerical work. However, once you have been with us over a period of time and know how our offices operate, we may be able to include you in more interesting projects. For the sake of all concerned, we do our best to take advantage of any special skills you may have to offer. Currently we are only able to accommodate volunteers during regular working hours, though we keep information about evening and weekend availability in case of a crisis.

Apply to be an Office Volunteer

To apply to volunteer in our offices (not as an intern), please print and complete our short questionnaire, and send or fax it along with a current resume or work history to:
Doctors Without Borders - Attn: Office Volunteers
333 7th Avenue, 2nd Floor
New York, NY 10001
Fax: (212) 679-7016
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. For our New York office, please call or email our Office Volunteer Coordinator at . Again, thank you for your willingness to help us in our relief efforts.
In addition to office volunteering, MSF-USA offers a paid internship program. Paid internships are usually associated with a specific educational program or goal – whether formally endorsed by an educational institution or undertaken independently by a student. As such, internships demand a greater time commitment and more regular schedule but tend to have a more substantial component to their work than clerical duties.
